Watch: Healthcare and Leadership with Soumya Swaminathan and Noreen Zafar
This installment of Asia Society India’s Women in Governance series brings together Soumya Swaminathan, chairperson, M S Swaminathan Research Foundation and former Chief Scientist, WHO; and Noreen Zafar, noted paediatric gynaecologist and Founder and President, Girls & Women Health Initiative (GWHI), Pakistan to answer some critical questions.

- What have been the foundational ideas that have shaped their success and growth in the healthcare field?
- What are the challenges and opportunities they have encountered along the way?
- And how have their own advocacy and leadership journeys created large-scale impact?
This conversation explores how their journeys might intersect or diverge, and what their views are on how their fields can be made wider, to include more women in leadership positions, and the needs the public health, mental health and women’s health sectors have across South Asia.
